DIS Release of ISO 21502 Guidance on Project Management

June 4, 2020: ISO 21502 Guidance on project management (the refresh of ISO 21500:2012) has just entered the Draft International Standard (DIS) Release. This is a major refresh with the standard being rewritten to provide an objectives/narrative based approach so the standard works more cohesively with the different versions of process-based systems in the current marketplace and better supports the further evolution in the practice of project management. Further, there is a focus on the ‘what’ and ‘why’ and not the ‘how’. The scope of the standard has been extended to include expected outcomes and benefits and consider the relative position of the project in relation to the organization, programme, and portfolio environment. PMAC director Peter Milsom is the internationally elected Convenor for ISO 21502.

The standard is available for review and comments at: https://www.iso.org/standard/74947.html
