To promote the new IPMA certification system in Canada, the Project Management Association of Canada has reduced the certification fees until midnight Dec. 31, 2010. The discounted rates are the lowest among all the IPMA member associations in the world. This special discount expires in just two days -- take advantage and start the certification process today to lock in these low rates.

For IPMA Levels A, B and C certification, you only need to submit the application and 25% of the total fee before the deadline to lock in your application at the low rate. For IPMA Level-D certification, you will need to submit 100% of the discounted fee at the time you submit your application.

The discounted fees are....

• IPMA Level-A - $1,200 (normally $1,500) [Details]

PMAC is pleased to announce that our Engineering-Procurement-Construction Project Management certification exam is now available. The online exam is now in production and we have enabled an online registration form. [More details]

PMAC-AGPC is supporting a research proposal to the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) by the PM Perspectives Research Group. The group is composed of Dr. Blaize Horner Reich, RBC Professor of Technology and Innovation, Simon Fraser University; Dr. Chris Sauer, Senior Tutor, Green Templeton College, Oxford University, UK; and Dr. Andrew Gemino, Associate Professor, Simon Fraser University. The group plans to distill the results of the latest academic research into a series of "toolkits" consisting of easy-to-read reports accompanied by PowerPoint decks, and short video clips to help project management practitioners take advantage of emerging practices and evidence-based approaches. PMAC will notify members when these topic toolkits become available.

PMAC is now accepting submissions for the 2011 Canadian Project Management Book Awards. Currently, this is the only awards program in the world dedicated to project management books. [Contest details and submission form]

Alex Jalalian, PMAC Director of Awards, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Canadian Project Management Book Awards. 2010 was the first year of the awards, and we had entries in each of three categories, aligned to the Canadian Project Management National Competence Baseline (CPMNCB).

The PMAC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the winner of the 2010 PMAC Volunteer of the Year Award, Snehal Shah. The award is in recognition of his cooperative, can-do attitude and his willingness to assist with various PMAC activities including preparing our membership package and managing the publishing of our email newsletter, among others. The Certification Body of the Project Management Association of Canada is pleased to announce its latest project management specialty certification: PMAC Certificate in EPC Project Management. The certificate is aimed at project engineers and project managers who will be leading engineering-procurement-construction projects. Certified Agile Project Managers (Cert.APM) have demonstrated their understanding of managing agile projects in complex organizational environments and have attained the highest level of agile PM certification currently available in the industry.
