Canada covers a broad geographic area, and serving our members from coast to coast to coast introduces significant challenges for an organization trying to keep costs (and membership fees) as low as possible. To better serve those of our members who have expressed reservations about traveling to take our IPMA Level-D examination, we are proud to announce that in May 2010, our IPMA Level-D certification exam will be made available online.
After registering online and paying the current $150 examination fee (the current $200 discount off of the regular exam price of $350 ends December 31, 2010), you will receive an email within 2 business days containing login information for taking the examination. You will have one month from the time of registration to take the 3-hour timed exam.
The examination consists of three one-hour timed components and they do not have to be taken all in one sitting -- they just need to be completed during the one-month period. The first component is a selection of multiple-choice questions. The second component consists of short, 2-4 sentence answers to specific questions. The third and final component consists of a number of longer essay answers.
Examinations will be marked and a letter with results (and an IPMA certification certificate for successful candidates) will be mailed out soon after the final component of the exam is completed.
The examination system is currently undergoing testing. Look to this space for an announcement of when it is ready and available for our first online registrants.
