We're Pleased to Announce the Advanced Certificate in Critical and Structured Thinking Certification Exam is Now Available

PMAC is pleased to announce that our Advanced Certificate in Critical and Structured Thinking Project Management certification exam is now available. We would like to announce that this new exam has passed our rigorous review process to receive our seal of approval. With that The Certification Body of the Project Management Association of Canada is delighted to officially announce its latest project management specialty certification: PMAC Advanced Certificate in Critical and Structured Thinking.

PMAC Supports International Association of Facilitators (Canada) in a Submission to the Canadian Government

The Canadian federal government is going through a round of consultations and draft revisions of its professional services procurement standards. One proposed change removes professional facilitators as a separate "competency" or role, embedding those activities under several other roles. An additional change sees project management skills duplicated under two areas with slightly different structures -- a wasteful and confusing situation.

Scaling Disciplined Agile Delivery Webcast

Hello PMAC Members, Here is a free webinar made available to us by Scott Ambler, the founder of the Agile Modeling (AM), Agile Data (AD), Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), and Enterprise Unified Process (EUP) methodologies. He is also the (co-)author of twenty books, including many dealing with various Agile Methodologies. On October 29, and November 1st of 2012, Scott Ambler has a free webinar on The Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) process decision framework. This is a goal-driven, hybrid agile, full delivery methodology that is enterprise aware and scalable. Every project team finds itself in a unique situation and must tailor its approach and structure appropriately. In this webcast Scott Ambler explores several aspects of scaling – team size, geographic distribution, and regulatory compliance – and shows how DAD can be tailored to address those scaling factors. Industry statistics exploring success and failure rates when addressing these scaling factors will be over viewed.

Operators as Part of the Project Team from a PM Perspective

On November 13, 2012, PMAC Director of Certification, Morley Selver has a free webinar on learning about the operators as part of the project team from a PM perspective. Your operators are the life blood of your project. For a project manager caught up in the frenzied bustle of his or her work, this can be an easy fact to overlook. However, the operator has tremendous influence over project success. The PM who has a deep understanding of the role is in an excellent position to create an effective ally.
