We at PMAC are delighted to announce that Christopher J. Carter, Director of PMAC, has assumed the concurrent role of Treasurer. He's taking over from Grant Kerr, who has been on the Board since our humble beginnings in 2012. Let's also thank Grant for his dedication and excellent service over the course of many years.
Chris is in the process of vigorous transition and will assume his full functions within short.

November 2017: International Project Management Association (IPMA) Research Award for 2017 was awarded to Prof. Lavagnon Ika for his works on ignorance, Hirschman’s principle of the Hiding Hand, project success and success conditions. Lavagnon Ika is Associate Professor of Project Management (PM). He holds an M.Sc. in PM from UQO and a PhD in Business Administration with specialization in Project Management from the Université du Québec à Montréal, a Montreal-based joint doctoral program with McGill, Concordia, and HEC Universities. June 4, 2020: ISO 21502 Guidance on project management (the refresh of ISO 21500:2012) has just entered the Draft International Standard (DIS) Release. This is a major refresh with the standard being rewritten to provide an objectives/narrative based approach so the standard works more cohesively with the different versions of process-based systems in the current marketplace and better supports the further evolution in the practice of project management. Further, there is a focus on the ‘what’ and ‘why’ and not the ‘how’.

PMAC director Peter Milsom recently transitioned from his CMC-Ontario council director position for advocacy to taking on the CMC-Ontario Registrar role. Peter Milsom is an IPMA First Assessor, and IPMA PMC/PPMC, was an IPMA leader for the Individual Competence Baseline for Project, Programme & Portfolio 4th Version (ICB4), an advisor to the IPMA International Certification Regulations (ICR) Version 4, and a leader for the IPMA International Validation Regulations & Handbook (IVRH) responsible for processes.

PMAC President Kevin Aguanno will participate as a panelist at the 6th annual Defence Procurement Conference hosted by the Canadian Global Affairs Institute at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa on November 20, 2019. We have just concluded another successful International PM Day event on November 7, 2019 in Toronto. A spectacular lineup of speakers, a great venue, and good food combined with the largest audience yet (180 paid tickets) made this an event to remember. PMAC director Peter Milsom has been selected by the government to represent Canada as head of delegation at the ISO Technical Committee 258 Plenary meeting (which deals with project, programme and portfolio management). Milsom is an active participant in representing Canadian interests in global working groups shaping the future of the project management profession. He is also currently the Convenor for the ISO 21502 project management guidance standard working group.
We extend our congratulations to Mr. Milsom and wish him good fortune in this endeavour.
