Once an Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contract has been signed, it is now time to manage the project to successful completion. Better understanding of EPC project management will lead to improved scope definition, project performance, cost management, and more effective startups. This certificate is intended for project engineers, project managers and others involved with managing an EPC contract and who need to know what to do, how to do it, and why they need to do it. This certification exam covers how EPC contracts are set up, why owners choose EPC contracts, project management tasks from the EPC contractor's point of view, and what you should be looking for during commissioning and startup.
The Exam
This online examination consists of a selection of 35 multiple-choice questions and 5 true/false questions that must be answered within a 60-minute time limit. Questions will be randomly selected from a database of available questions. Candidates will be able to use reference materials in preparing their answers. Candidates will require a web browser with an Internet connection to complete the exam.
Exams will be marked automatically upon their completion, and candidates will be able to immediately view their results. A score of 60% (24 questions correct out of 40) is required to pass the exam.
Candidates who fail the exam will be able to retake the examination after re-registering and re-paying the examination fee. There is no limit to the number of attempts a candidate may make.

Exam Application
Before applying to take the exam, we highly recommend applicants complete an accredited EPC Project Management course within the 12 months prior to the application or have extensive experience working on EPC projects. We also highly recommend applicants read Plant Project Engineering Guidebook for Mechanical and Civil Engineers by Morley Selver.
The examination fee is $200 for non members, and $150 for members.

Results
Successful candidates will receive PMAC-AGPC's Certificate in EPC Project Management and will earn the the right to use the postnominal letters "Cert.EPC" after their names and will be listed in our Directory of Certified Individuals. Certificates remain valid for as long as someone remains a member of the association in good standing.
