On 24th of March 2012, Alex Jalalian (PMAC’s Vice President) and Beverly Pasian (PMAC’s Past President) presented PMAC’s application for IPMA’s full membership to the Council of Delegates (CoD) of IPMA, in Valencia. The presentation included a video message from Kevin Aguanno (PMAC’s president) to the CoD. One day later, i.e. on the voting day, the CoD voted by 83 votes in favour, 0 votes against and 0 votes abstained, and hence, PMAC became officially a full member of IPMA.

The University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) has been offering preparation courses for our Certified Agile Project Manager exam for the past couple of years now, and the demand for the Cert.APM credential in the Kitchener-Waterloo area has remained steady. The latest batch of students wrote the exam at the university on April 4, 2012.

PMAC Director of Awards, Alex Jalalian, and the remainder of the Board of Directors of PMAC would like to announce that Kevin Aguanno has been awarded the 2011 PMAC Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of his dedication to the association, his eagerness to help out with any activity, and the long hours he puts in helping to run the association. Award voting was conducted at the 2011 PMAC Annual General Meeting held earlier this year.

Following our recent Annual General Meeting, PMAC President, Kevin Aguanno, welcomes two new members to the PMAC Board of Directors:

1. The first, Romeo Mitchell, is our new Director of Professional Development. He brings extensive program management experience and is well-known in the Canadian project management community, having served terms as the president of PMI Southern Ontario Chapter and Vice President of the Ontario Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
2. The second, Daniel Fay, is our new Director of Communications. Dan teaches project management and leadership topics as a guest lecturer at universities around the world. He is also an adjunct faculty member for the Peter Drucker Executive Development Program in China. He is current on the Board of Directors of the PMI Newfoundland Chapter.
