About RODNEY TURNER
J Rodney Turner, MA, MSc, DPhil (Oxon), BE (Auck), CEng, FIMechE, FAPM, MInstD, is Professor of Project Management at the Kemmy Business School of the University of Limerick in Limerick, Ireland and in the Graduate School of Management at the Institut Supérieure de Gestion Industrielle Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Lille (ESC Lille) in Lille, France. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia and Educatis University, Zurich, and Visiting Professor at Henley Management College in the UK and George Washington University, USA; Professor Turner studied engineering at Auckland University and did his doctorate at Oxford University, where he was also for two years a post-doctoral research fellow. He worked for six years for ICI as a mechanical engineer and project manager, on the design, construction and maintenance of heavy process plants, and for three years with Coopers and Lybrand as a management consultant. Rodney Turner is the author or editor of fourteen books, including The Handbook of Project-based Management, the best selling book published by McGraw-Hill, and the Gower Handbook of Project Management. He is editor of The International Journal of Project Management, (since May 1993), and has written many articles for journals, conferences and magazines. He lectures on and teaches project management worldwide.
