The presentation, titled "The Polaris Submarine Project: A Case Study in Risk Management", covers the details behind the project that started the space race -- and the nuclear arms race. This high-risk project used innovative new management approaches to account for the project risk, including the invention of PERT.

PMAC is Looking for PM Book Reviewers

The application deadline for the 2010 Canadian Project Management Book Awards has now passed, and we have had some interesting submissions from a number of publishers. We are now starting the book review / evaluation phase. We have a number of reviewers already, but are looking for a few more. If you are interested in helping out by reading one or more of these books and scoring it using our evaluation form, then please contact us at bookawards@pmac-agpc.ca. All reviewers get to keep the books they are given for review.

New CPMA (IPMA Level-D) Qualifications Awarded

The Certification Board of the Project Management Association of Canada is pleased to congratulate the following people for achieving their Certified Project Management Associate (CPMA) qualification. The CPMA is the only IPMA Level-D qualification available in Canada. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the Canadian National Project Management Competency Baseline.
